This past weekend, the Chris Attieh Foundation held their annual softball tournament. The tournament takes place at Zephyr Park in Whitehall in memory of Chris Attieh, who passed away in 2010 from complications of Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS) and pneumonia.
Each year the Foundation raises money to continue Chris’ spirit of humanity and goodwill. This year’s donations benefit scholarships and charities including Whitehall High School Humanitarian Fund, Syrian Crisis Orphans, Dreams Come True and Make a Wish.
Admiring their mission of continuing Chris’ humanitarian spirit, DAY Vision offered to manage creative services for the event. Our donated creative services include branding, print design, and photography.
The process began with designing this year’s tournament logo, which would be featured on the front of every shirt. The softball tournament attracts about 200 players split into 18+ teams, so making the logo design as impactful as possible was an important goal. Originally, we wanted to continue the simplicity from logos of years past, but when given the green light to design something a bit more graphic and complex, we took the opportunity.
In addition to the branding, we also managed the event’s printed materials, including a poster to promote the tournament and various sponsor banners. In addition, we managed the print order for the team t-shirts, which included our logo design on the front and sponsors on the back.
DAY Vision also designed bracket banners to be used during the tournament. These bracket banners kept track of team colors, game scores, and the time schedule. The bracket banners help to keep everyone organized and informed throughout the entirety of the event.
DAY Vision also donated photography and editing services the days of the event. We had a blast watching all the teams play, meeting great people and photographing the event.
We are happy to have donated our creative services to such a great cause.
