Social media is a great tool to connect with people you already know, people you recently met, people in your industry, customers, prospects, family, friends, etc. When used properly and in conjunction with other facets of online communication, it is a great medium to boost your business through both cold and warm markets.
Social media can’t be successful alone though. Consider it a gateway to driving traffic to your website, online commerce and your blog. Blogs are a great means of demonstrating your expertise, insight and connecting with customers and clients. The blog entries should be professionally written with insight and detail of your market or field, indicate knowledge by identifying trends, provide the reader with information, and indicate ways to contact you further. Most importantly, I would recommend that you blog post be timely and be readable in a 2-3 minute sitting. Many blog entries may close with a call-to-action to schedule an appointment, sign up for more information, make a phone call, or download and complete a form and mail and fax it back to you.
Your blog makes a great area to give detail as mentioned above. Be sure to drive traffic to it through shorter and appealing content on social media sites such as Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter. Maybe perhaps, that is how you got here in the first place.
